The centre has facility providing modern diagnostic equipment within our clinical areas, emergency room, operating rooms and intensive care unit amongst other areas. The Early Age / History
Putra Medical Centre started as a 24-hours 20 bedded maternity and Polyclinic operated in a doubled storey bungalow house on Jalan Lumpur in Alor Star under the name of Pusat Lim & Yu. The centre was the brainchild of the renowned doctors in Kedah Darul Aman, Dr. Lim Kim Huat and Dr. Yu Ching Hsiu.
Putra Medical Centre was registered in 19th April 1991 primarily to participate in the growth of private hospital in Malaysia and commenced operation on the 2nd July 1995. The centre commenced with only a handful of Specialists and 3 Medical Officers. Today, the centre has 15 Residents Consultants with a team of visiting Consultants and 3 Medical Officers and a host of locums to support the Polyclinic.
Putra Medical Centre is now in its 12th year of operation. It has grown to a capacity of 90 beds and has a total workforce of 250 employees from senior managements down to its auxiliary staffs. The centre is 100%-owned by Unique Luxury Sdn.Bhd. (Company No.215791-U).
Putra Medical Centre is continuously upgrading its facilities to provide better and affordable medical healthcare to the people in the northern region of Malaysia. This is inline with the national and state government request to provide good quality medical healthcare services to Malaysians. The centre also provides the facilities to tourists under the Medical Tourism Programme.
